I recently started training Jiu Jitsu with Dave Camarillo. Allthough I have had the privilege to study with many awesome teachers over the years most of my grappling training has been almost self directed. I've typically found myself in smaller ponds where most of the fish dabbled in grappling even less than I and only occasionally ventured out for more instruction that helped me in that environment.
I've seen my game improve allot under Dave's direction. This is the result of his direct input, and his indirect input I get rolling with the other students. I have had to let go of many bad habits that I had relied on in the past. Going to leg locks instead of passing, relying on a submission attempt and scramble to escape. It really isn't that hard when 90% of the guys that you are up against are so technically sound that those tactics don't work anyways.
I'm really looking forward to the journey and I am thank full to Dave for creating such a great environment to train.
